As I sit here writing this sentence, Frank Ocean’s new album, Boys Don’t Cry has yet to be released. A report came out Tuesday morning saying that it would be released Friday, Aug. 5 on Apple Music. The rest of the world would have it two weeks later. But now it is, in fact, Friday, Aug. 5, and no one has Ocean’s album. I don’t. You don’t. NO ONE DOES. Well, maybe President Obama does — cashing in on those POTUS perks while he can.
The Internet is predictably doing what it does best while waiting on this missing album: Complain on social media to express their sadness, grief, frustration and quasi-anger with hilarious tweets.
There are the “sitting here waiting” tweets…
We might not have Boys Don’t Cry, but at least we have .gifs. Then there are tweets dripping with sadness (and some sarcasm)…
And there are some tweets trying to make sense of a seemingly senseless situation…
And finally, some folks out there are just straight up dropping truth bombs…
